Colorado Legal Services 2024 Statewide Conference, Oct. 21-24
Tuesday October 22, 2024 10:45am - 12:00pm MDT

This panel presentation will highlight the work of CLS’s statewide units with a focus on how requests for government records enhance that work. Through processes laid out in laws including the Freedom of Information Act and Colorado Open Records Act, attorneys can obtain records and information from government agencies, which can help with investigations and advocacy on behalf of CLS’s clients. Attorneys from the ID project, Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, Health and Elder Law Unit, and Survivor Services Unit will cover these laws’ requirements and processes, and will describe how they have used these tools to advance their representation of clients.
